Editorial Policy
Our standard
Every article should answer a clear reader question, distinguish evidence from interpretation and disclose material limitations. We do not publish invented interviews, experience, testing, qualifications or statistics. This policy is a proposed operating standard; the publisher must adopt and implement it.
Research and commissioning
An editor defines the audience, scope and risks before commissioning. Writers keep a source log with URLs, access dates and the claims supported. Firsthand documents and relevant primary research take priority. Where credible sources disagree, explain the disagreement and avoid false certainty.
Source evaluation
Evaluate author expertise, publication date, methods, sample size where relevant, conflicts of interest and geographic applicability. A company’s own documentation can establish its published features, but does not independently validate its performance claims. Anonymous sources need an editorial justification and corroboration.
Fact-checking and review
Before publication, check names, dates, calculations, quotations, citations and links against the original material. A second editor reviews substantive claims. Health, legal and financial guidance needs qualified subject review when the content warrants it; publish the reviewer’s identity only with verified credentials and permission.
Corrections and updates
Report a possible error through our corrections page. Include the article URL and supporting evidence. An editor assesses the issue, makes necessary changes and records material corrections with a date and explanation. Minor spelling fixes do not need a correction notice. Changing an update date without substantive review is not permitted.
AI use
AI may assist with outlines, transcription, language editing or idea exploration. A human editor remains accountable for every published claim and must independently check citations. We do not use AI to invent interviews or firsthand tests. Substantial AI-generated content and synthetic imagery are disclosed. Confidential information must not be entered into an unapproved service.
Commercial independence
Sponsored features are labeled Sponsored at the beginning. Affiliate relationships are disclosed near relevant links. Payment cannot buy a favorable verdict or suppress a correction. Writers disclose gifts, access and conflicts. Commercial partners may check their factual details but do not control independent conclusions.
Fairness, originality and privacy
Respect copyright, obtain image rights, give relevant subjects a fair opportunity to respond to significant allegations, and avoid exposing unnecessary personal information. Opinion must be labeled. Plagiarism and discriminatory harassment are incompatible with our standards.
Review cycle
Review time-sensitive claims when circumstances change. Proposed internal cadence: quarterly for fast-changing technology and commercial comparisons; at least annually for evergreen material. These are operating targets, not claims of completed review.
